Intelligent lighting control: the Twilight Dimming module

Lightandlight - Twilight

Modern outdoor lighting must not only be efficient and powerful – it should also be able to adapt intelligently to its surroundings. With the Twilight Dimming module, we are expanding our product range with an innovative solution for automated lighting control.

Automatic dimming according to the course of daylight

The module enables self-learning dimming in several stages, based on the natural course of sunset, dusk, night, dawn and sunrise. The system automatically calculates the duration of the night phase from the average switch-on time of the last three days. The light output is gradually reduced throughout the evening – e.g. from 100 % to 60 % and later to 30 % – and then increased again in the morning. This intelligent adjustment not only ensures optimum visibility, but also reduces unnecessary light emissions – an effective contribution to reducing light pollution. In addition, targeted dimming enables significant energy savings and contributes to extending the service life of the LEDs installed.

Nighttime-Modus

In addition to Twilight mode, the module also has a Nighttime mode in which dimming is based on a predefined daily structure. The day is divided into five time windows: Afternoon, dusk, night, dawn and morning. Activation is not based on fixed times, but is dynamically orientated to the average operating time and a calculated midnight point. Both dimming modes offer numerous individual setting options – so each phase can be customised in terms of duration and brightness.

Control via app and simple integration

Thanks to the integrated SMART Technology, the dimming behaviour can be conveniently adjusted via an app. This means that light profiles can be individually programmed and updated at any time – even after installation. With a maximum output power of up to 240 W (at 24-48 V), the Twilight dimming module not only offers clever functions, but also enough power for large-scale applications – such as petrol stations, advertising pylons or building facades.
